Abd El-Majid: There are mine and rubble clearance operations in Yarmouk camp

The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, Khalid Abd El-Majid, said that there are also operations to remove landmines and rubble in Yarmouk camp, expecting that after the clearance of the mines, the competent authorities will open the road to Yarmouk camp.

Abd El-Majid added in a statement he made to AL-Watan Syrian newspaper, that three parties will participate in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the camp. They are the Syrian state, UNRWA - the Palestinian Authority represented by the Palestine Liberation Organization, under the supervision and coordination of the state.

Abd El-Majid pointed out that the areas of the center of the camp, Yarmouk Street and Palestine Street will return and become housed, and that 50-60 percent of the buildings can be repaired and some of them are suitable for housing, while others are partially demolished and the remaining part is also suitable for housing.

The fighters of the Popular Struggle Front, the General Command and Fath Al-Intifada are participated in the fighting alongside the forces of the Syrian regime. The Action Group has documented the deaths and injuries of Palestinians in its ranks.
