Local sources in Yarmouk camp reported that civilian gangs supported by the Syrian regime forces, steal and loot the houses in the camp, without any discipline or supervision.
The sources quoted witnesses as saying that one of the gangs took from one of the houses at the entrance opposite to the Haifa pharmacy, a warehouse of stolen electrical appliances from civilian houses, to be taken outside the camp, noting that the area mentioned is very close to one of the center points of the Palestinian factions affiliated to the Syrian regime.
Eye witnesses also reported that some civilians stole the houses in the area of their residency during the past few days, in front of members of the security forces and pro-regime Palestinian groups.
Activists stressed that the names of a number of the members of the gangs are known to the residents of the camp from before the events of the war, that they are weak souls and have precedents in theft.
While the Syrian regime continues to steal and loot the civilian houses in Yarmouk camp and the neighboring areas that it took control of on 21-05, in a phenomenon that has become known as defamation.
