A call to secure infant milk in Deir Balout camp in north Syria

The families of Deir Balout camp and activists in north Syria called out for help in securing infant milk, because the displaced are unable to buy it as a result of the poor financial conditions experienced by the displaced refugees in the camp.

In addition, the price of infant milk has increased. One box of milk costs about 3000 Syrian pounds (6 US Dollars), and only lasts for a week.

The activists stressed on the need to provide infant milk continuously, noting that the children in the camp need 150 boxes per week and that the terrible conditions of the displaced prevent them from buying many of their necessities.

Activists from the camp published a picture of a child whose mother was feeding him water and dates because of her inability to buy milk. As a result, the child encountered an infection in his stomach and intestines, which led to his dehydration.

The Palestinian refugees who left the south of Damascus in batches and arrived at the Deir Balout refugee camp in Jindiris, south-west of Afrin, in the northern suburbs of Aleppo, north of Syria, faced a new chapter of suffering, since the camp lacks many basic services.
