Coalition of Palestinian Forces Yarmouk camp will not be part of the reorganization of the Damascus Governorate

The Secretariat of the Alliance of Palestinian Forces said in a meeting held on June 25 with field officials in the camps that the Syrian political and security leaders assured the Higher Follow-up Committee, that Yarmouk camp would not be part of the reorganization of the Damascus governorate, noting that during the coming months, there will be cooperation between the concerned parties in the state, the General Authority for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, the Palestinian factions, associations, institutions and civil society organizations, in cooperation and coordination with the competent authorities in the Syrian State, in order to provide services to the families returning to their homes, to remove the rubble and to restore and renovate Yarmouk camp.

The Syrian regime regained control of Yarmouk camp and a number of towns in the south of Damascus, after the military operation it launched on 21st of April 2018. The operation lasted 33 days and all kinds of weapons were used. 33 civilians died and dozens of others were injured, while great damage was caused to the buildings and houses of the camp.
