Media sources quoted Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad as stating that terrorist militias in partnership with Israel targeted Palestinian refugee camps in Syria and destroyed their facilities.
Mekdad reportedly said during a meeting with UNRWA’s Commissioner-General Pierre Krähenbühl that the rehabilitation of Palestinian refugee camps has been put on the Syrian government’s agenda as part of ongoing efforts to improve living conditions for the Syrians and Palestinians alike. Mekdad stressed the importance of mutual cooperation with UNRWA to that very end.
