The Commission of Palestinians of Syria for Relief and Development in Daraa called on the Palestine Liberation Organization and all other concerned bodies to take urgent action as regards the situation of Palestinian refugees in the embattled Syrian territories.
In appeals emailed to AGPS, the commission said the recent escalation in and around Daraa, home to over 40,000 registered and unregistered refugees, made the situation quite unbearable.
Palestinians displaced from their homes in 1948 have been left without roofs over their heads in an area where over 70% of civilian structures and vital facilities have been ruined.
The commission added that the tragedy is spreading out to AlMuzeireeb, Jilin, Tel Shehab, and AlAjami areas, where thousands of Palestinian refugees have been struggling for survival.
