Displaced Palestinian Families North of Syria Rally over Dire Conditions

Families deported from southern Damascus to Deir Balut Camp, north of Syria, called on the concerned authorities to urgently step in and work on improving living conditions for dozens of impoverished families in the area.

The protesters spoke up for their right to education and health care, among other vital services.

The residents voiced concerns over the fallouts of a projected flooding that might rock the area with the advent of winter season.

Deir Balut Camp has been set up next to the Turkish-funded Muhamadiya Camp as refugee influx across Syria has increased. The two neighboring camps are home to 1,100 poorly-equipped makeshift tents.
