Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Ahmad Majdalani, stressed the need to reconstruct Yarmouk Camp.
He said an international conference is likely to be convened so as to mobilize support for reconstruction projects in cooperation with the Syrian authorities.
Speaking during a visit to Damascus, where he has met with PLO representatives in Syria, Majdalani sounded the alarm over UNRWA’s funding crisis and the escalating pressure exerted by the US and Israel to rein in support for the agency.
Fatah’s ties with the Syrian regime have gone back to normal since 2013, following a three-decade hiatus.
