Soccer competition kicked off across a number of Syria-based Palestinian refugee camps and communities.
On Saturday a so-called Quds Competition was staged in Khan Dannun Camp, in the presence of local sports figures. In the debut match, Shuhadaa AlAqsa team, from AlSabina, scored three goals, beating AlMajd AlFilastini team, from Khan Dannun.
A couple of days earlier, a football contest tagged “Razan AlNajar” kicked off in AlAyedeen Camp, in Hums.
At the same time, the Karmel squad scored eight goals in a match with Shabab Souriya team.
Dozens of stadiums and clubs have been reduced to rubble in Syrian government offensives on Palestinian refugee camps and communities. Dozens of sportsmen and thousands of refugees fled such camps as Daraa, Khan Eshieh, and Yarmouk as they rummaged around for a safe shelter to take cover in.
