Sabina Camp Thoroughfares Closed off By Debris Mounds

Residents of AlSabina Camp for Palestinian refugees in Rif Dimashq railed against the mounds of debris piled up at the main entrances to the area.

The residents slammed local authorities for turning their back on their appeals for debris clearance and for reneging on their promises to ease civilians’ access to their homes and rehabilitate infrastructure.

Violent onslaughts launched on AlSabina Camp in 2013 led to the destruction of 80% of civilian buildings and facilities. On August 30, 2017 a number of residents were allowed to return to their homes. The government forces seized the camp on November 17, 2013.

Located some 14 kilometers away from southern Damascus, AlSabina Camp, used to shelter 25,000 Palestinian refugees prior to the outbreak of the conflict.
