Palestinian refugee Wasfi Aref AlShawish, aged 40, earned the first place in Syria’s weightlifting championship after he managed to lift 285 kilograms.
AlShawish, weighing 120 kilograms, is a native of Jaffa, in Palestinian territories occupied in 1948. He is a resident of the Latakia-based AlRaml Camp in Syria.
