Palestinian tutors sheltered in AlHusainiya Camp and who have been laid off from UNRWA-run schools called on the refugee agency to reconsider its recruitment mechanisms regarding teaching staff in AlHusainiya and appoint instructors sheltered in the camp.
In a letter circulated on social media, an instructor wondered about the reason why UNRWA has downsized the number of employees from AlHusainiya Camp who were appointed in 2016 and brought in others from outside the camp.
He said AlHusainiya students are better taught by local instructors for the latter are better qualified to determine students’ required input and provide them with catch-up sessions if needed.
Recently, residents of AlHusainiya Camp kept railing against the inadequate educational services and poor-quality output delivered to their children at local schools.
