A Protest Vigil for the PRC Cadres in the Yarmouk Camp

A number of staff and volunteers of the PRC in the Yarmouk camp implemented yesterday a solidarity vigil to protest against the targeted of personnel and medical staff at the camp, and to expressed their condemnation of the assassination of the medical and relief activist, "Yahya Abdullah Al-Hourani," who was assassinated by gunshot while on his way to Palestine hospital.

In turn, each of the ICRC in Geneva and the IFRCcondemned the murder of the relief and medical activist "Yahya Abdullah Hourani," and called the parties of the conflict in Syria to respect the international humanitarian law and to refrain from attacking the workers in the field of humanitarian as well as hospitals and ambulance cars.

The charity and relief associations in the Yarmouk refugee camp continue land reclamation, where these associations planted those lands with winter and summer vegetables like spinach, chard, radishes, onions, ..), irrigated and fertilized, and then harvested, to be distributed to the people of Yarmouk in an attempt to meet the acute shortage of food and supplies inside the camp due to the continuation of the siege imposed by the Syrian army and the GCfor 633 days respectively.
