The Palestinian Return Centre (PRC) and Action Group for Palestinians of Syria (AGPS) have extended invitations for a side-event onboard of the 40th session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva to discuss the precarious situation of Palestinian refugees in northern Syria.
The seminar, set to be held on March 13 from 13:00 to 14:00 Room XV in the Palais Des Nations in Geneva, will shed light on the lack of humanitarian assistance in northern Syria.
Speakers at the event are expected to discuss the situation of Palestinian refugees in Syria prior to the conflict and the post-2011 challenges. Specific focus will be laid on the situation of Palestinian refugees in Deir Ballout camp, which falls outside of the map of zones controlled by the Syrian government forces.
The list of expected speakers includes Middle East history researcher Dr. Anne Irfan, PRC’s media chief Ahmad Husain (also AGPS’ Executive Director), and head of the Action Group’s Studies Department Ibrahim AlAli.
