Contacts Held with Turkey to Enhance Situation of Palestine Refugees, Says Ambassador

Palestinian Embassador in Turkey Faed Mustafa said contacts have been held with the Turkish authorities in order to work out the situation of Palestinian refugees in Turkey, mostly those fleeing Iraq and Syria.

In a press release, the ambassador said that last week a meeting was held with representatives of the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Ankara in order to seek ways to work out the legal situation of irregular Palestinian migrants.

The Ambassador also said that he will meet with Istabul’s Mayor, Akram Imam Oglu, and that he called for another to be convened with the Director-General of the Migration Office in Ankara.

He added that the embassy continues to hand over Palestinian passports to Palestinian refugees from Syria in Turkey, expressing hope that the Palestinians would not undergo a third Nakba in Turkey.
