Palestinian children taking shelter in Yarmouk Camp have appealed to UNRWA and the General Authority for Palestinian Refugees to work on reconstructing their destroyed schools so as to enable them to pursue theirccvcvvcvcssd studies.
In a meeting held some few days earlier with the education chief in Yarmouk Camp, Walid AlKurdi, the parents said the war prevented their children from attending classes outside of the camp.
The meeting was held at the destroyed AlJarmak School. Over 30 students were in attendance.
Available data by UNRWA indicate that 32 UNRWA facilities have been reduced to rubble in Yarmouk Camp, including 16 schools.
Several UNRWA facilities were destroyed in the Syrian warfare and others have gone out of operation, including two clinics, a vocational training center, a youth development center, and 28 schools, out of 112 UNRWA schools in Syria.
The residents called for opening up the local school, recruiting qualified teaching staff, and securing transportation means back to and from the camp.
