Palestinian refugee Maher Bashir Abweini, aged 18, was arrested by Tahrir AlSham Commission, an armed opposition group in Syria, after he was pushed back from Turkey for failing to obtain the kimlik visa card.
Sources based in northern Syria said Tahrir AlSham are slated to release Maher in the next few days following security checks.
Maher fled the embattled Yarmouk refugee camp, in Syria, in the hunt for a safe shelter in the Turkish territories.
Recently, Turkish police stepped down crackdowns targeting irregular migrants and non-holders of the kimlik visa card in Istanbul.
