Palestinian Refugee Arrested by Turkish Police

Palestinian refugee from Syria Ahmad Hasan Abdul Wahab, displaced from Syria’s Yarmouk Camp, has been detained by Turkish police after he failed to obtain the kimlik temporary protection card.

His family has appealed to the Palestinian embassy and activists to push for his release from Turkish custody and prevent his forced deportation.

Hundreds of Palestinian families from Syria continue to appeal to the Turkish authorities and Palestinian embassies to work out their legal status and grant them humanitarian asylum.

Recently, Turkish police have stepped up crackdowns and abduction sweeps targeting irregular migrants and non-holders of the kimlik visa card in Istanbul.

Nearly 2,400 Palestinian families from Syria have sought shelter in Turkey, including 1,200 families in Istanbul, where they have been facing an abject situation.
