Activists and independent committees in Lebanon announced the launch of Civil Committees for Palestinians of Syria in Lebanon, a body that will speak up for PRS across the Lebanese territories.
The newly-formed body is made up of Palestinian refugee activists and relief officers who fled Syria to Lebanon. It is reportedly an independent group that takes an impartial stand vis-à-vis all Palestinian factions in Lebanon.
The committee called on UNRWA to live up to its mission and implement efficient mechanisms to secure Palestinians’ physical and legal protection.
Similar committees have seen the day over recent years to transmit the demands of PRS, including the Committee of Displaced Palestinians from Syria in Sidon, the Follow-Up Committee in the Western and Central Bekaa, and the Follow-Up Committee in Tripoli.
