Palestinian Scholar Abdul Rahman Mohamed Ghuneim Passes Away

Palestinian writer and scholar Abdul Rahman Muhammad Ghuneim, member of the Palestinian National Council and president of the Palestinian Writers and Journalists Union in Syria, died at the age of 75.

Ghuneim was born in 1944 in the Palestinian village of AlMaghar. He pursued his education in Gaza and received a B.A. in economics and political science from Cairo University. He was appointed editor-in-chief of a number of magazines and established the Galilee Publishing House.

The scholar is a member of the Association for Research and Studies at the Federation of Arab writers in Damascus. He wrote 34 books comprising poetry collections, political studies, and literary criticism.
