The Damascus Criminal Court issued on Tuesday a death sentence against the 20-year-old student Fares Haitham Taameh, on charges of killing the Palestinian doctor Lara Hisham Hasan Shehadeh and her child Lama on April 19, 2018, in their house in the town of Zakia, in Rif Dimashq.
An investigation carried out by the Syrian criminal security forces found out that the motives for the crime were robbery and theft.
Following the murder, the criminal stole USD 20,000 and 5 million Syrian pounds in addition to a golden jewelry from the house.
Forensic examination showed that the mother and her daughter were subjected to cruel tortured and got their bodies mutilated before and after the murder.
