Three Palestinian brothers from AlTaamari family, sheltered in Yarmouk Camp, have been secretly held in Syrian government prisons for the sixth consecutive year.
The refugees were identified as: Khaled Jamal AlTaamari, 26; Mohamed Jamal AlTaamari, 23; and Ahmad Jamal AlTaamari, 19. They were arrested on May 1, 2014 on their way out of Yarmouk camp through Ali AlWahsh checkpoint, run by the Syrian government forces. At the time, the Syrian government claimed a humanitarian corridor had been opened before civilians. But hundreds of Palestinian refugees ended up in jail, according to eye-witnesses.
AGPS documented the secret detention of over 1,760 Palestinian refugees, including women and minors, in Syrian government lock-ups. Some 330 refugees have also gone missing in the country.
Lists of hundreds of forcibly disappeared Palestinian refugees and victims in Syria are available on AGPS website, both in English and Arabic. AGPS supplies a database of their names and the possible times and places of arrest.
