Palestinian Refugees from Syria Join Pro-Jerusalem Vigil Held in Turkey

A number of Palestinian refugees from Syria took part in a Friday vigil staged in AlFateh Mosque square to speak out against Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem and in solidarity with the Imam of AlAqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri.

The vigil, organized by Turkish NGOs, dovetails the so-called Fajr AlAmal (Dawn of Hope) launched by sit-inners at AlAqa Mosque in protest at the repeated break-ins by Israeli police and settlers into the holy site and the Israeli decision to ban Ekrema Sabri from the Mosque.

Last Sunday, Israeli police summoned Sheikh Sabri to questioning and handed him over a decision banning him from entering AlAqsa Mosque until January 25.
