Fine Arts Institute Founded by Palestinian Refugee in Germany

Palestinian refugee from Syria Tareq Bahij established an institute to teach painting to refugees in Germany.

A former resident of Yarmouk for Palestinian refugees, in Damascus, Tareq said he started teaching painting as soon as he landed in Germany, some four years ago.

He said his project aims at enhancing the refugees’ self-confidence and painting skills as a means to enable them to artistically express their pains and translate their experiences into art.

Dozens of displaced Palestinian refugees have achieved success stories in Europe, challenging the traumatic upshots wrought by daily scenes of bloodshed and destruction across the embattled Syrian territories.
