The Iran-backed Liwaa AlQuds armed group, affiliated with the Syrian government, has reduced the wages of its staff members due to the financial difficulties faced by the group.
Salaries have reportedly been cut to 35,000 Syrian Pounds, down from 70,000 in previous months.
The group’s chief Mohamed AlSaid said the group will be backed by the Russian side after support from Iran had dwindled.
AGPS documented the death of 89 Palestinian refugees from Liwaa AlQuds battalion as they fought alongside Syria’s government troops since the group’s founding in 2013.
Nearly 7,000 gunmen are enlisted into Liwaa AlQuds brigade, among them 800 Palestinian refugees taking shelter in refugee camps across the Syrian territories.
