The Action Group for Palestinians of Syria participated in a consultative meeting held in Yarmouk Camp at the invitation of the I’dad Foundation at its headquarters.
\nThe meeting was attended by a number of camp leaders, imams, preachers, and directors of local and community organizations.
\nThe meeting aimed to discuss ways to improve conditions in the camp across various educational, social, and community sectors, as well as to explore mechanisms for addressing negative phenomena, primarily the spread of drugs and theft, by developing practical proposals and working to follow up on them with relevant authorities.
\nDuring the meeting, the director of the Action Group’s Damascus office presented an overview of the group’s work, objectives, and history, highlighting the importance of the media’s role in highlighting the issues of Palestinian refugees and the necessity of addressing them professionally and transparently.
\nHe pointed to a practical example of the group’s work: Highlighting the situation of a Palestinian community in the town of Shebaa, which facilitated communication between a charitable organization and the residents, leading to the provision of humanitarian aid. He emphasized that professional media is a fundamental tool for amplifying people’s voices and enhancing responses to their concerns.
\nHe stressed the importance of the media covering various community issues objectively and credibly, thereby contributing to the accurate transmission of residents’ concerns and supporting efforts to improve their situation.
\nAt the conclusion of the meeting, the need to continue coordination between the various community activities and to follow up on the proposals that were put forward through a series of subsequent meetings was emphasized, while the Action group expressed its readiness to participate in any efforts that would serve the camp\u2019s residents and enhance their resilience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
