Palestinian activists in Lebanon have called on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to intervene urgently to stop what they described as \u201cforced deportations\u201d taking place at some checkpoints in the north of the country, following the documentation of several incidents recently.<\/p>\n
According to a statement issued by the activists on April 20, 2026, a formal request was submitted to UNRWA\u2019s Beirut office, urging the agency to coordinate with the relevant Lebanese authorities to halt these procedures, document the violations, and issue an official statement guaranteeing the protection of Palestinian refugees.<\/p>\n
The statement indicated that the legal and living conditions of Palestinian refugees, particularly those from Syria, are steadily deteriorating, leaving them in a \u201cprecarious situation that threatens their stability.\u201d They face difficulties returning to Syria and fear deportation or legal repercussions within Lebanon.<\/p>\n
