The Syrian government called on Monday for states, international organizations, and UN mechanisms concerned with the Syrian issue to share any information, documents, and evidence they possess with relevant national institutions. This move, the government stated, aims to support transitional justice efforts and uncover the truth about violations committed in the country over the past years<\/p>\n

In an official statement, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that providing information and evidence to national institutions would serve victims and their families, support accountability and national recovery processes, and strengthen the work of the National Commission for Transitional Justice and the National Commission for Missing Persons.<\/p>\n
The statement emphasized that access to information related to violations is a fundamental right of victims and their families and helps uncover the facts surrounding enforced disappearances and serious human rights violations. It noted that making this data available in a timely manner could alleviate the suffering of families still searching for their missing loved ones.<\/p>\n
This call comes at a time when thousands of Syrian and Palestinian families are still waiting to learn the fate of their relatives who went missing, were arrested, or disappeared during the years of conflict. Human rights organizations continue to demand access to relevant archives and documents, enabling victims and their families to learn the truth.<\/p>\n
