Lebanon \u2013 Action Group<\/p>\n
The suffering of Palestinian refugees in camps and communities in the Tyre region of southern Lebanon continues, amid repeated Israeli raids and attacks and frequent warnings to evacuate several areas. This has exacerbated the humanitarian and economic conditions of thousands of residents who have remained in their homes despite the security risks.<\/p>\n
According to estimates, approximately 50,000 Palestinian refugees and displaced persons still reside in the Rashidieh, Bass, and Burj al-Shamali camps, as well as in the communities of Jal al-Bahr, Maashouq, Qasmiyeh, Kfar Bada, Burghliyeh, Abu al-Aswad, Shabriha, and Adloun. They face dire living conditions due to the cessation of income sources for more than three months, the high cost of living, and the difficulty of relocating to other areas due to financial burdens and the lack of alternative housing.<\/p>\n
Data indicates that many families are suffering from a lack of basic necessities, while the burden on the elderly, the sick, and people with disabilities is increasing, amidst challenges related to accessing healthcare and essential relief supplies.<\/p>\n
In this context, calls have been made to form a UN humanitarian convoy, comprising specialized international organizations and led by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), to reach camps and communities after ensuring the necessary security guarantees, assess needs on the ground, and provide food, medical supplies, hygiene products, and other basic necessities to the population.<\/p>\n
The calls also urged the international community to assume its responsibilities towards protecting civilians, and to work to keep Palestinian camps and communities neutral from any targeting, in order to ensure the safety of refugees and provide them with the minimum requirements for life under the current circumstances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
