The Action Group for Palestinians of Syria is intending to launch a new documentation project entitled: \u201cTestimonies in the Flesh of Absence: Stories Documenting Detainees, the Missing, and Their Families.\u201d This humanitarian endeavor aims to shed light on the suffering of loss and enforced disappearance endured by thousands of Palestinian and Syrian families during the years of war.
\nThe project is part of the Group\u2019s efforts to preserve collective memory and document violations related to arrest, enforced disappearance, and displacement. It does so through firsthand accounts from the families of victims and the missing, ensuring their voices remain present in the public consciousness and affirming that justice remains a attainable goal despite the harsh realities.The project focuses on documenting the profound human impact these experiences have had on families, both psychologically and socially, through a visual and human narrative that restores dignity to the victims\u2019 stories and provides their families with a space for expression and sharing.
\n\u201cTestimonies in the Flesh of Absence\u201d is more than just a documentation project; it constitutes an open space for memory and human engagement, a message affirming that the absent are never truly gone from our hearts and minds, but rather remain present in the daily lives of those who remain.
\nThe project includes a range of outputs, most notably: recording video and documented testimonies from the families of the missing; producing reports and human interest stories; archiving relevant narratives and documents; and publishing media and human rights content that supports the causes of justice and accountability.
