Damascus \u2013 Action Group<\/p>\n
A delegation from the Action Group for Palestinians of Syria visited the headquarters of the Yarmouk Camp Neighborhood Committee on Wednesday, June 17. The delegation included the group’s Director General, Fayez Abu Eid; the Damascus office director, Tawfiq Hujair; the head of the correspondents’ team, Daher Saleh; and the group’s correspondent in Yarmouk Camp, Nour Sandas. They were received by the head of the Yarmouk Camp Development Committee, Ramez Younes, and discussed the current situation in the camp and the most significant challenges facing residents during the reconstruction and return phase.
\nThe delegation commended the efforts of the Yarmouk Camp Neighborhood Committee in serving the camp’s residents, particularly the work of removing rubble and debris from the streets and neighborhoods, which facilitates the return of residents to their homes and improves services in the area.<\/p>\n
The group’s representatives emphasized that the Action Group for Palestinians of Syria was among the first organizations to highlight the suffering of Palestinian refugees in Syria and worked to bring their issues and grievances to the attention of the public during the most difficult circumstances faced by Palestinian camps and communities.<\/p>\n
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to serve the Palestinian people in Syria, the necessity of highlighting the humanitarian and legal issues they face, and the importance of conveying their concerns and needs through various media outlets.<\/p>\n
The meeting also addressed the importance of a free press and its role in documenting events and reporting the truth. It was stressed that freedom of expression is a cornerstone of building societies, and that journalists and free voices have played a vital role in conveying the suffering of the people and defending their rights, despite the restrictions they have faced in recent years.<\/p>\n
In closing, both parties affirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation and communication to serve the residents of Yarmouk camp and Palestinian refugees in Syria in general, and to contribute to highlighting their various issues and needs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
