Palestinians of Syria Protest in front of the Palestinian Embassy at Ankara.

The AGPS received news that about 25 Palestinians of Syria refugees have carried out a sit-in in front of the Palestinian embassy in Ankara demanding better living and legal conditions in addition to include them in the UNRWA services.

The Sit-in lasted for four days, during meetings with Palestinian Consul, who in turn referred to the embassy’s inability to meet their demands, citing it to the lack of financial means to assist them, as he added that the embassy crew work without salaries for nearly three months, and they addressed the Turkish government concerning the legal status and did not get a response from their side, and the only service that can be provided by the embassy is issuing authority passport provided for those who wish according to Ramallah approval for exemption from the 50 euro fee for each passport.

Sitters, who cut about 700 km to reach Ankara, expressed dissatisfaction with the embassy’s position and demanded to play a greater role towards its people, who suffer most in the whole of Turkey and the cities of the south in particular, and in the time the Turkish police took it upon themselves to secure meals for the protestors and accommodation in a neighboring hotel because of the cold weather.

The  sitters confirmed to the AGPS reporter that the Palestinian Consul  claimed that police may unsealed the sit-in by force, using implicit threat and that he had paid  200 TL per person for transportation for ending the sit-in yesterday without any concrete results.
