The frequent shelling and sniping that targeted Daraa camp southern Syria since the beginning of the war, have led to the destruction of nearly (70%) of the camp’s buildings. The rest of the refugees inside the camp are living in a severely dangerous humanitarian crises, most permanent is health and living aspects.
In terms of health aspect, there is no hospital or medical center in the camp, in addition to the severe shortage of medicine medical materials and equipment for first aid, in addition to the lack of ambulances to transport the injured to receive treatment outside the camp. However, the sniper of the regular army impede the arrival of ambulances, and when the residents manage to transfer a patient outside the camp, Jordan refuses the entry of any Palestinian refugees from Syria even the injuries.
In front of this deteriorated health situation a number of activists inside the camp warned of the spread of disease among the people, especially with having to use contaminated drinking water, due to the lack of drinking water at the camp since about 341 days.
In the living side, the people of Daraa camp suffers from blackouts for long periods of up to several days, also suffer from the lack of fuels and heating materials, in addition to the loss of many varieties of food, and the high prices of other materials dramatically. It is worth mentioning that the repeated bombing and the difficult living conditions forced hundreds of Palestinian families from the camp’s residents to seek refuge in neighboring towns.
