The Palestinian Campaign to Uncover the Fate of Detainees and the Forcibly Disappeared in Syrian Prisons announced the launch of a new awareness series entitled “Know Your Rights.” This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support victims’ families and enhance their awareness of the legal rights related to enforced disappearances.
The series aims to simplify legal and human rights concepts related to detainees and missing persons by providing informational materials for families of the forcibly disappeared, helping them understand their rights guaranteed under international laws and conventions.
According to the campaign organizers, this initiative seeks to empower families to learn about available legal mechanisms, enabling them to pursue their relatives’ cases and demand information about their fate through appropriate channels. It also aims to raise public awareness about the issue of enforced disappearance and its humanitarian consequences.
This step comes amidst the continued suffering of thousands of families, including Palestinian refugee families in Syria, due to the lack of information about the fate of their loved ones, and ongoing demands for the truth to be revealed and justice to be acheived.
