Syrian-Palestinian paramedic Yazan Nours Saeed, a resident of the al-Husayniya refugee camp in rural Damascus and originally from the village of al-Khasas in occupied Palestine, was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted ambulance crews in the town of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr in southern Lebanon while he was performing his humanitarian duties.
Local sources reported that Saeed was among the ambulance teams working in the area when it was targeted, resulting in his death while participating in relief operations and transporting the wounded.
News of his death sparked grief among residents of Palestinian camps and communities, with activists and locals mourning him and praising his humanitarian role and work in the field of emergency medical services.
The Action Group for Palestinians of Syria has documented the deaths of dozens of Palestinians, including Palestinian refugees from Syria, since the outbreak of the war on Gaza and the escalation of violence into Lebanon, as a result of Israeli airstrikes that have targeted various areas. Among the victims are humanitarian and relief workers, as well as migrants and members of Palestinian factions in Lebanon.
