Rural Damascus – Action Group
Work continues on the street lighting project in Khan al-Sheih camp as part of the “Loyalty and Love” campaign. This community-based volunteer initiative relies on donations from camp residents living abroad and the efforts of volunteers from within the camp, aiming to improve services and enhance public safety.
Field teams are continuing to extend electrical networks, install modern floodlights and light sensors, and set up lighting units in several streets and neighborhoods of the camp. Work is proceeding at an intensive pace to complete the project as soon as possible.
According to the initiative’s organizers, the project aims to improve nighttime lighting in the camp’s streets, thereby enhancing safety and providing a safer environment for residents, especially children and the elderly.
This initiative serves as a model of community-based civic engagement, implemented through volunteer efforts and funded by donations from Khan al-Sheih camp residents abroad, with the participation of volunteers from within the camp, in an effort to contribute to improving services and meeting some of the residents’ basic needs.
