The Action Group | South Damascus

Public Security Forces carried out a large-scale security campaign today inside Yarmouk Camp, aiming to collect unlicensed weapons and pursue wanted individuals, as part of efforts to enhance security and stability inside the camp.

The Action Group’s correspondent reported that the campaign included intensive searches in several areas, searching for illegal weapons and individuals suspected of involvement in illegal activities.

Our correspondent indicated that the operation was carried out in accordance with strict security measures, with no clashes or arrests recorded so far, while the campaign is still ongoing to ensure the achievement of its objectives.

This security operation comes amid growing fears of the proliferation of weapons among civilians inside the camp, which has led to the escalation of conflicts and an increase in violence, the most recent of which were bloody incidents that claimed the lives of a number of civilians.

Yarmouk Camp, whose residents have begun to return after years of displacement, faces increasing security challenges that threaten its stability.
