The body of young woman Hiba Yahya Muwad was found on Wednesday in the Darousha area of rural Damascus, near the Al-Tahtouh buildings, following a joint security operation between the Khan Al-Sheih police station and the Jdeidet Artouz police station. The young woman had been missing since Friday, April 24, 2026, in the eastern neighborhood of Khan Al-Sheih camp, under what were initially described as mysterious circumstances. Her body was found today and identified by her shoes, according to local sources.
According to information obtained by the Action Group, the victim had previously resided in Yarmouk camp and worked for a money transfer company. She was also the primary breadwinner for her family, supporting her father and her brother, who has autism.
Initial reports indicated that traces of blood were found inside her home after her disappearance, along with open doors, raising concerns among residents that she had been assaulted, given the lack of any official explanation at the time. As of the time of writing this report, the circumstances or causes of the death have not been officially revealed, while the competent authorities continue their investigations to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident, amid a state of anxiety and anticipation among the camp’s residents, and demands to reveal the truth and hold those responsible accountable
