Local sources, who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons, reported that Syrian General Security forces carried out a campaign of arrests in recent days targeting approximately 40 Palestinian refugees in Damascus and its surrounding areas.
According to these sources, the arrests included six residents of Khan al-Shih camp, 14 from various other areas, two refugees from Jaramana camp, four from al-Husayniyah camp, three residents of the Rukn al-Din neighborhood, and one refugee from al-Hamah.
The sources explained that the arrests took place under varying circumstances; some individuals were arrested at their homes, while others were detained on their way to work, before being taken to unknown locations without any explanation of the reasons for their arrest or the charges against them.
No official statement has yet been issued clarifying the nature of these measures or the exact number of those arrested, raising concerns among residents about the possibility of further arrests in the coming period.
