Beirut – Action Group
A field visit conducted today by the “Beirut Activists” team inside the Burj al-Barajneh Palestinian refugee camp revealed dire humanitarian conditions endured by Palestinian-Syrian families residing there.
Photos and videos documented by the activists during their visits to refugee homes depict scenes reflecting the extent of their daily suffering. These families live in harsh housing conditions characterized by severe overcrowding and cramped spaces, coupled with a critical shortage of food, medicine, and basic necessities, exacerbating the plight of children, women, and the elderly in particular.
In a statement, the activists indicated that the visit aimed to convey the grim reality as it is, emphasizing that these refugees have been suffering from neglect and delays in receiving aid for many months.
In their concluding statement, Beirut activists called upon all relevant authorities and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to rescue these families and provide them with the minimum requirements for a dignified life. They also pledged to continue documenting this suffering and amplifying the voices of this forgotten group to the public until the desired response is achieved.
