Douma – Action Group
The Association of Detainees and Missing Persons of Saydnaya Prison, in cooperation with the Global Survivors Fund, organized two awareness workshops in Douma on transitional justice and reparations for victims of Saydnaya Prison.
The workshops focused on explaining the concept of transitional justice and mechanisms for reparations, as well as discussing practical proposals aimed at restoring dignity to victims of past crimes and compensating those affected. Participants also shared their views on how to achieve transitional justice in a way that meets their aspirations and contributes to building a just society that guarantees rights and supports genuine and sustainable reconciliation. The organization stated that these initiatives are part of its ongoing efforts to address the cases of survivors and families of the missing, and emphasize the importance of community involvement in justice and reconciliation efforts to ensure respect for rights and the preservation of dignity.
